Friday night’s activity featured the notorious Obstacle Course. Once again it was a show worth watching!

On Saturday, after the Open Show, the young people participated in a Cow Costume Contest. We saw cows heading to the shower, racing cows, Mardi Gras party cows, and even a Hawaiian cow. But the act that stole the show was Denys Zea with "Where's the Beef?" It was the first bovine britches we had ever seen!! His secret may have been getting the cow to sit down.

The Junior Association thanks the judges – Don MacLeod, the Junior Cattle classes, Roger Smoker for the Junior Showmanship classes (plus donating jerky and beef sticks) and Jacquelyn Chatkowski and Jamie Fisher for judging the Fun classes!!

It's not easy to judge Juniors. They all work so hard and prepare their animals so beautifully, it is hard to decide! A big THANK YOU to the judges for jobs well done!

Two other things always happen at a Junior Event sponsored by the MidWest Association! Ez Braun faithfully in the ring helping the Juniors catching any of the cows that happen to get away!! We appreciate his commitment to the Juniors!

And each year Eddie Mackay of Dundonald Farms donates one of his ingenious aluminum inventions! Junior activities are free of charge largely through the generous contributions of Mr. Mackay!

This year Eddie donated a grooming chute custom made for Highlands. Just the thing to have when cleaning up your critters!! It was auctioned off at the end of the show. The lucky high bidder was Vantage Point Farms!

THANK YOU to everybody who made this event possible. See you at the Junior Show next time!!
