Big Mac King of the
pasture, our herd sire for 8 years. He turned out a lot of blue ribbon
winners! He was retired from active duty last spring and is no longer at
the farm. |
 |

sire of our 2006 calves. Jock now lives at MeadowWind Farm at
Holland, Michigan. |
 |
Storm One of Laurel's
calves - he is a sweetie. This is the one who went to church on
Christmas Eve. |
 |
Storm We love this guy! |
 |
Storm He deserves another
photo. Storm loves treats out of our grandchildren's hands. |
 |

whose calves are friendly and well put together. |
 |

red cow. One of our easiest keepers - she is always relaxed, always
looks good! |
 |
Shenanigan Maggie's calf

put together, and anxious to make some heifers happy! |
 |
White Highlands are
plentiful at Wild Rose Meadows. The reason we have so many Highlands is
that we keep trying to even out the colors. We never quite catch up. |
 |
Babysitting is commonly a
shared task among Highland cows. Even the bull takes a turn babysitting.
Here Laurel watches three calves while their mothers graze. |
 |
Little Doll is the
"Grand Dame" of the herd at Wild Rose Meadows. She throws more
hay out of the bale feeder than she eats. Dave says with the price
of hay, Little Doll would be hamburger, if she didn't give fantastic
calves, |
 |
Little Doll and her new calf, March 2006.
It was muddy - the hay feeder looked like the best
spot to camp out! |
 |
Little Doll's Calf One
day old - soaking up the sun in the hay feeder. |
 |
Trillium
We love white cows, but they don't stay that way
in the spring! Trillium s a
phenomenal cow. Great looks, nice calves, very friendly, and an easy
keeper. We love her! |
 |
Penny What a sweetie! |
 |
Sassafras Our cat Melody
begs for attention - she likes that rough tongue! |
 |
Stitch This silver dun
bull from Trillium is our youngest from 2005, but the best put together
of them all! |
|
Wild Rose Meadows

We are
living in the old farm house while renovating and restoring it. We
love it! |
 |

 |
Big Old Barn
You may not see it, but there is a big old
fashioned barn hidden behind all that vegetation. We are in the
process of restoring it. |
 |
Alpacas 2 Suri alpacas

 |
3rd Grade Field Trip
Brookwood Elementary School 3rd Graders spent a
day on the farm. Here they are checking out the emus. Later they hiked
the woods in the background. What a great group of kids! |

Beef the way nature intended...
Completely natural. Tender, juicy, flavorful.
Raised at home on the family farm without growth hormones,
steroids or antibiotics in the feed. Better beef because we care about
what we eat.
