Ohio Fall Gathering

Connect with other Highland enthusiasts while learning about how Sycamore Valley Farms goes to market with their beef sales. Tour their farm and see how they are able to work cattle with the existing farm setup.

The MASH
The MASH will be held at the Suburban Collection Showplace at the Michigan State Fair (46100 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48374) on September 1, 2022 through September 5, 2022.
The Suburban Collection Showcase is fully air conditioned for man, woman and beast and is a marvelous experience for all.
Cattle can arrive Wednesday, August 31, 2022 between 9am-9pm or Thursday September 1st from 6am-6pm. All cattle MUST be on the grounds by 6pm Thursday, September 1st and are released at 3pm, Monday, September 5th.
The Youth Show starts on noon on Friday, September 2nd.
The Open Show starts at 10am on Saturday, September 3rd. The Highlands show last after all other beef breeds.

The Yopper Classic - UP State Fair
Midwest Highland Cattle Association - UP State Fair , Yooper Classic Highland Cattle Show
We are proud to participate in the UP State Fair with one of several American Highland Cattle Association Roll of Excellence Superpoint Shows.
In addition to showcasing our dramatic and beautiful breed of full- bred Highland cattle, the ROE Point Shows award points to individual animals based on their placings in their class in each ROE event where they participate.
A yearly high-point winner is designated for Roe Show Bull of the Year, Cow/calf of the Year and Heifer of the Year as well as Division winners . This is designed to reward not only outstanding cattle, but the owners and breeders who bring their cattle out in multiple venues to compete.
The more shows attended the greater the chance to make the list of ROE winners.
Ohio Summer Picnic

Enjoyed a beautiful day of networking with Highland enthusiasts that traveled from OH, MI, IN and MN. We had perfect weather, a fantastic lunch (prepared by the Woosley family from Johnstown, OH), presentation on marketing and selling beef by Garth Ruff, a pasture walk and equipment demonstration by Bob Hendershot and a great Q&A panel of reputable breeders including Pat White from LEA-White Farms, MI, Steve Palosaari from Snowland Livestock, MI and Brandon Volstad from Cheesehead Highlands, WI. Thank you to everyone that attended and look forward to seeing you all at our next networking event!
